National Mourning Day Discussion by USA Awami League will be held in New York on Aug 15, 2015. The event will be observed for a month. Local and visiting party leaders of Bangladesh Awami League will participate at the event. Prayers will be offered and detail of the upcoming events will be discussed as well.

The founding leader of Bangladesh Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassination on August 15, 1975. In Bangladesh, the day is commemorated as National Mourning Day chiefly by Awami League supporters as well as by many ordinary citizens. The day is also observed outside of Bangladesh among the followers of Awami League.
