Bangladesh Society for Puja and Culture Inc. (BPCS), a Brisbane-based Bangladeshi Hindu community organization started in 1996. After years of informal activities by the Bangladeshi Hindu community residing in Queensland, Australia, the BPCS was formally established on 8 September 2006 in Queensland as a non-political and non-profit cultural organization. Following the motto “Working together for our culture and values,” its primary objective is to provide a platform for its members to engage in cultural and religious activities within the community and promote awareness to the broader multicultural Australian society.
Objectives
Key objectives of the Bangladesh Society for Puja & Culture are as follows:
- To promote Bangali values and culture among families, children, and the general public.
- To uphold the values of the Hindu (Sonaton) religion, its ideology, and concepts.
- To organize related religious and cultural activities.
- To promote “help consciousness,” bring harmony, and improve social bonding and communication among the members of the Association.
- To strengthen cultural ties and friendship between the Australian community and the members of the Association.
- To promote cultural exchange with any other groups, organizations, or institutions interested in Bangali culture.
- To foster mutual respect and awareness among members of different faiths.
