Bornomala Shikkhangon (Bornomala School) is a Bangladeshi community and cultural organization based in Virgina, USA. The organization is registered as not-for-profit, and it is a non-political, non-religious open to all organization which was established in 2014. The organization celebrates Bangladeshi culture and Bangla language through various events and education. Bangla school of Bornomala Shikkhangon is dedicated to educate new generation of Bangladeshi kids to learn about their country, culture, tradition, heritage etc.
All or most of the programs of Bornomala Shikkhangon is free and run by volunteers. Bangladeshi Instructors teach Bangla music, song, language math, arts. The school provides school stationary, book, pencil, brush etc free. Free snacks are also provided during the class time.
Mission: Promoting public awareness to the Bengali community for the language and culture of Bangladesh.
Vision: To ensure that the young groups of Bangladeshi community can promote and practicing our culture, heritage and language.
Program and Activities:
Learning Class: … focusing on teaching Bangla language, Math, Music, Dance, Arabic & history of the World cultural heritage to the children in our community. We have 6 dedicated volunteer instructors.
Cultural Events: … students participate in various Bangladeshi cultural events in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia area. The organization collaborates with other Bangali organizations to make it a platform to promote Bangladeshi culture.
Embassy Event: … Bornomala Shikkhangon participates in the Bangladesh Embassy events such as Victory day, Independence Day, Embassy passport events to represents our native history and achievements.
International Mothers Language Day: … Bornomala Shikkhangon is a member of Washington DC Ekushey Alliance. Bornomala always has proactively participated with all students, parents and the members of the community for Ekushey celebration.
Events of Picnic: … fun learning events with all students, parents and the community outdoor
Bangladesh Independence Day: … Bornomala Shikkhangon students performs in remembrance of Bangladesh Independence’s Day.
Events of Street Fair (PothoMela): … takes part in the street fair where Bangladeshi community enjoys their culture and tradition.
Multicultural Program: … join other ethnic community’s cultural initiative and Asian international showcase.
