Bangladesh Puja & Cultural Society of South Australia Inc. (BPCSSA), based in Adelaide, was founded in 2011. The society was established by Bangladeshi Hindu communities who migrated to Australia. Its primary objective is to preserve and practice Hindu beliefs and traditions, as well as cultural heritage and the Bangla language, and foster a sense of community among its members. The Society also aims to share our Bangla cultural and Hindu ideological beliefs with other community members to foster harmonious social bonds within the Australian Multicultural Society Framework.

The Objectives

Bangladesh Puja & Cultural Society of South Australia (BPCSSA) aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • The Society is a non-profit and non-political organization.
  • Its objective is to promote Bangla culture, tradition, and the Hindu teaching of tolerance and co-existence with other communities.
  • The Society organizes puja, cultural programs, sporting events, social gatherings, seminars, and Bangla language classes.
  • It liaises with other community associations and societies to exchange views, share experiences, and preserve a common heritage.
  • The Society aims to serve the common interests of Bangladeshi people residing in South Australia by liaising with the various levels of the Australian Government and Non-Government Organisations.
  • The Society publishes and circulates news, journals, periodicals, books, booklets, leaflets, and other materials in both print and digital formats, including on its websites.
  • It provides logistical and other assistance to new or recent arrivals from Bangladesh in settling in Australia.
  • The Society may undertake any other activities to further its objectives.
Membership

Bangladesh Puja & Cultural Society of South Australia offers Full and Associate membership.

  • Full Member

(a) A Bangladeshi national or Bangladeshi descendant who is Hindu by religion and who is living in Australia.
(b) Spouse or family member(s) of a Full Member, irrespective of national origin or religion.

  • Associate Member

(a) Any person who is either a Bangladeshi, Australian, or a national of any other country living in Australia.
(b) Spouse or family member(s) of an Associate Member, irrespective of national origin or religion.

Single Membership: A$65

The non-paying membership status will be changed to Non-Subscriber Member if any outstanding membership fee is not paid by October 1st of each year.
