Bangladesh Puja Samiti of New York Inc. (BPS), a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization representing the Bangladeshi Hindu community in New York City, was started in 1990 and incorporated in 2013. As a pioneering non-profit organization in North America, BPS is headquartered in New York City. Led by dedicated members of the Bangladeshi Hindu community and local professionals, BPS is dedicated to preserving and promoting cultural diversity within the city.
Bangladesh Puja Samiti of New York organizes Hindu community festivals, including the annual Durga Puja (Navratri), cultural programs, and picnics.
Activites
- Religious events include Shyama Puja, Saraswati Puja, Sasthi Puja, Saptami Puja, Ashtami Puja, etc.
- Cultural events include Pohela Boishakh (Bangla New Year), drawing and singing competitions for children, etc.
- Outdoor events include annual picnics, sports competitions, etc.
