Founded in March 2002 in New York City, the Adhunika Foundation began as a pioneering online platform dedicated to providing a network and resources for Bangladeshi women. The goal of Adhunika was to help its members by facilitating the exchange of information and knowledge among its members. Over the years, it has evolved into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, uniting volunteers and donors to advance gender equality and social justice for women and children in Bangladesh and its diaspora.
