FreeUnslain Words: Solidarity for Bangladeshi Bloggers
Artists and new generation of Bangladeshi origin in New York take the stage to commemorate the voices of four recently slain bloggers (Avijit Roy, Oyasiqur Babu, Ananta Bijoy Das, and Niloy Neel), and protest the threat looming over more than 70 other Bangladeshi intellectuals, many of whom are in hiding. The event will be held to express solidarity, demand justice and protect free thinkers of Bangladesh.
Join for an evening of solidarity, protest, live music, readings to condemn the assassinations of, and to celebrate writing. The event is a part of Brooklyn Book Festival Bookend Program, co-presented with Roulette and PEN American Center.
