Founded in 2018, the America-Bangladesh Education Fund Inc. (ABEFI) is a tax-exempt Bangladeshi community organization in New Jersey (Tax ID #94-3476239). It was founded as a non-profit organization to operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. All its educational funds are used to help needy students and schools in Bangladesh, regardless of race and religion.

Mission
America-Bangladesh Education Fund aims to raise educational awareness among Bangladesh’s poorest students and continues to form grass-roots groups to implement financial support for struggling students.
Activities
The America-Bangladesh Education Fund aims to achieve the following:
- Financial Support:
- Provide financing and grants to low-income students and families facing financial hardship in Bangladesh.
- Prevent students from dropping out due to financial difficulties.
- Institutional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other institutions with similar goals.
- Provide resources to schools in Bangladesh as needed.
- Public Education:
- Educate the public, especially young Bangladeshi-Americans, about the needs, benefits, and opportunities of such programs and their involvement opportunities.
- Other Activities:
- Conduct any other legal charity and educational activities.
Funding
America-Bangladesh Education Fund receives monetary donations from Bangladeshi professionals, community members, and businesses in the USA.
Achievements
- ABEFI provided 30 scholarships to students in Bangladesh in 2023.
- ABEFI provided 25 scholarships to students in Bangladesh in 2019.
