Business Description

Founded in July 2019, the Bangladeshi American Society (BAS) is a non-profit, non-political public benefit organization registered in California. Its mission is to foster a stronger Bangladeshi community within the United States.

Goals and objectives
  • Provide cultural, intellectual, social, physical, spiritual, and charitable welfare to the people of Bangladeshi origin in the USA.
  • Promote goodwill, understanding, and appreciation of Bangladeshi culture and heritage among Americans regardless of color, creed, race, religion, and national origin.
  • Promote friendship between Bangladesh and the United States.
  • Promote cultural exchange with other groups or organizations interested in Bangladeshi culture, history, and heritage.
  • To facilitate professional, educational, interfaith, or cultural activities among organizations.
Programs:
  •  Cultural & Community Building:
    • Celebrate Bangladeshi culture and national occasions.
    • Establish a Bangladeshi Community Center.
    • Organize a Bangla Language school.
  • Support Services:
    • Immigration, legal, and insurance counseling.
    • Preventive healthcare and education.
    • Housing assistance.
    • Employment training and information.
    • Crisis intervention, support groups, and case management.
Membership:

All individuals of Bangladeshi origin are eligible for membership, subject to a paid fee. Members can participate in voting and elections. Additionally, they enjoy various benefits, including the opportunity to meet civil servants working in the government, in-person networking opportunities, professional development, and community leadership practice.

  • General Membership Fee: $100.00 per year.
  • Associate Membership Fee: $50 each year.
  • Life Membership Fee: Any person who donates $1,000 or more.
  • Student Membership Fee: Full-time student, $10.00 per year.
