The Moulvibazar District Association of New Jersey is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1990 by a group of Bangladeshi immigrants who came to the United States from the Moulvibazar District of Bangladesh. The association’s motto is “Unity, Education, Peace, and Progress.”
The association’s mission is to promote the culture, language, and heritage of the Moulvibazar district of Bangladesh through various events and activities. The association act as forum for its members to network and support each other.
Some of the events that the association organizes include:
- Iftar parties during the holy month of Ramadan
- Eid reunions
- Awards of appreciation ceremonies
- Picnic trips
- Cultural events, such as dance performances and music concerts
- Social service initiatives, such as food drives and clothing drives
The association also actively participates in various national events of Bangladesh, such as the Bangla New Year (Pohela Boishakh), the Bangladesh Liberation Day, and the Language Movement Day.
