Bengalis of New York (BONY) is a community organization for the Bangladeshi diaspora based in New York City, USA. The mission of Bengalis of New York (BONY) is to “celebrate Bengali culture and people through storytelling, community building, and discourse to empower the diaspora further.” According to BONY, it is also a “platform to highlight stories about the growing Bengali diaspora and share stories and experiences lived by Bengali people in the 21st century.” Bengalis of New York (BONY) aims to represent the positive side of the Bangladeshi community, highlight their struggles and accomplishments, and dispel stereotypes and misconceptions.
The organization comprises the young Bangladeshi community who loves to know and work with Bangladeshi culture, lifestyle, entertainment, food, and related issues. The members write blog posts, organize events, assist each other, and help build a multicultural New York by connecting communities.
