Business Description
SACO America is the South Asian Community organization in America. The organization primarily works with Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, and Sri Lankan communities in Brooklyn’s Kensington area for their socioeconomic development. SACO America was founded in 2012 by the Bangladeshi initiative. This organization works closely with the Bangladeshi American Center of North America (BACONA). SACO America aims to help kids and families of South Asian origin find health care information, education information, job-related information, art, culture, recreation-related information, etc.
The purpose of SACO America is to
- help new South Asian immigrants with basic computer knowledge
- help the community with health, food, clothing, education, and shelter-related assistance
- promote cultural understanding and appreciation of multicultural America
- assist new immigrant parents who have children with disabilities
- help immigrants with New York Civil Service Examinations
- help them find and apply for suitable jobs
- help teach the elderly immigrant community to learn English, arrange recreational socializing events
- improve the quality of life of the elderly immigrant community by providing TV viewing, newspaper reading, indoor game facilities, or opportunities, etc.
As a not-for-profit, all the organization’s events are free and open to all.
