Business Description

The primary objective of the Bay Area Bangladesh Association (BABA) is to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Bangladeshis residing in Northern California, thereby contributing to Bangladesh’s growth and development. Founded in 2005, BABA is a non-profit, non-political, and secular organization dedicated to the well-being of Bangladeshis in Northern California and Bangladesh.

Objectives:
  • To promote goodwill and understanding among the organization’s members and between them and other ethnic groups in the Bay Area
  • To help Bangladeshis arriving in the Bay Area adjust to the country’s social, economic, and cultural conditions.
  • To help develop economic and educational growth in Bangladesh
  • To keep Bangladesh’s cultural heritage alive among the Bangladeshi residents of Northern California through cultural and educational programs and exchanges
  • To investigate and implement means of utilizing talent resources among men, women, and children of Bangladeshi living or immigrating to this area
  • Empower children through art, sports, and cultural experiences, and keep the cultural heritage of Bangladesh alive among the Bangladeshi residents in Northern California
Activities:

  • Indoor Sports Day & Kids Creativity Challenge

  • Open Air Concert
  • Celebrate Ramadan and Eid festivals
  • Independence Day of Bangladesh (Shadhinota Dibosh)
  • Liberation Day (Bijoy Dibosh)
Bangladesh American Community Center

One aim of the Bay Area Bangladesh Association (BABA) is to establish a shared facility for the Bangladeshi community in the Silicon Valley Area to share and promote Knowledge, Experience, and cultural heritage.

The goals of this center are to provide the following:

  • Establish an address for the community
  • Center for Bangladesh Studies: Establish a Bangladesh library and media center, including a WiFi facility and Bangladeshi TV Channels
  • Organize social and cultural networking events, including special events for family and children.
  • Offer courses on the history of Bangladesh and Bangla, culture, literature, and religious studies
  • Sponsor workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance technical and leadership skills
  • Make the facility available for private events.
