Madina Mosque, also known as the Islamic Council of America, is a prominent landmark and a beloved destination for the Bangladeshi Muslim community in Manhattan. Established in 1976, it offers a sanctuary for prayer and spiritual growth. Madina Mosque aims to create a welcoming environment for Muslims, foster a sense of community, and foster spiritual development.
At the heart of New York City, the Madina Mosque has been serving the local Muslim community for over five decades. In the 1970s, after immigrating to the United States, many Bangladeshi Muslims found themselves in New York City without a mosque to congregate in or a place to offer their prayers. Recognizing this need, Muslims united and took the initiative to build a mosque in Manhattan, which was established in 1976. With the tireless efforts of dedicated well-wishers through volunteer work and donations, Madina Mosque has grown into a permanent five-story building.
