The Bangladesh-America Friendship Society (BAFS) (aka, the Bangladeshi American Friendship Society of New York) is a not-for-profit, non-political, non-governmental, multicultural organization based in Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 2015, the organization organizes Boisahkhi Mela (Bangla New Year Festival) with the help of local community organizations. The festival allows the Bangladeshi immigrant community in Brooklyn to celebrate the Bangla New Year, purchase products, enjoy cultural activities, and introduce their traditional heritage to new generations. Most of the work of the Bangladesh-America Friendship Society is performed by its members and supporters voluntarily.
