Founded in 1996, the Australia Bangladesh Islamic Council (ABIC) Inc. is located in Huntingdale, Victoria, Australia. It is also known as the Huntingdale Mosque. Within walking distance of Huntingdale Train Station, the center is a common destination for Bangladeshi Muslims living near Huntingdale. The mission of ABIC is to provide service to the community in a manner that follows the teachings of Islam and within the framework of Australian law. To advocate for the Muslim community on matters that will affect the community’s relevance, settlement, and integration within Australian society.
Any Muslim of Bangladeshi origin in Melbourne is a member of ABIC. There are three membership categories: Founding members, Life members, and General members. The annual general membership fee is $50, and the lifetime membership fee is $1000.
