Pediatric Education Development Society International (PEDSI) is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization formed in New York, USA, comprised of Bangladeshi physicians and nurses committed to promoting medical educational activities in the USA and developing countries, especially Bangladesh. PEDSI’s members include Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, and the Bangladesh Medical Association of North America members.
The organization has a strong faculty with extensive experience in pediatric emergency y care, education, and community outreach. Pediatric Education Development Society International (PEDSI) –
- has a core of qualified Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) volunteer instructors
- has established the American Heart Association (AHA) International Training Center in Bangladesh to train experienced Bangladeshi physicians as BLS and PAL instructors to offer essential pediatric lifesaving courses in Bangladesh
- has conducted PALS and APLS courses in Bangladesh and Zimbabwe
- offers healthcare education and CPR awareness programs for students and parents in immigrant communities in New York
- is involved with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to promote Global Health initiatives for the improvement of maternal and child health
- has donated defibrillators and “Resuscitation kits,” which include essential equipment for monitoring and stabilizing critical patients.
