To participate\, send a photograph of yourself\, a CV/resume\, and the answer to the following questions: \n\nWhy should you be Miss Bangladesh USA?\nWhat is a social issue you are passionate about?\n\nScore Breakdown \nPrivate Interview (35%): Contestants will engage in a 10-minute private interview before the judges’ panel. They will be asked a wide range of questions\, including questions about the contestant’s platform\, social and political global and national issues\, Bangladesh and its culture\, and behavioral questions. This is an opportunity for the contestant to showcase what they know and have the judges learn more about the contestant without the pressures of being on stage. Please wear business\, professional attire for this portion. \nPlatform Issue (25%): Contestants will prepare a one-minute speech or presentation on their social issue of choice. This is to raise awareness and express passion about the issue. You may get as creative as you want. It does not have to be memorized\, but you are encouraged to do it. You may wear anything you seem fit for in this portion. \nTalent (15%): This is your chance to showcase your talents. Do you like to sing\, dance\, or do something else? You can engage the audience with what you love to do. Contestants will need to prepare a 1-minute-and-30-second talent piece. DESCRIPTION:Stop Rampal Eco-Disaster\, Save Bangladesh is a protest\, solidarity and discussion event organized by few members of Bangladeshi community in New York. Rampal Power Station is a proposed 1320 megawatt coal-fired power station at Rampal administrative area. The location of plant is very close (only 14 kilometers/8.5 miles away) to world’s largest mangrove forest the Sundarbans which is an environmentally fragile area and a UNESCO world heritage site. Rampal Power Station is a collaboration between governments of Bangladesh and India. The station supposed to produce 1320 megawatt of energy to meet the ever growing demand of energy for Bangladesh. However\, many environmental groups fear that the project will cause irreparable damage to the livelihoods of two million inhabitants dependent on the Sundarbans. Plus it has huge environmental effects such as air pollution\, biodiversity loss\, floods\, global warming\, loss of landscape\, noise pollution\, soil contamination\, soil erosion\, waste overflow\, deforestation\, water pollution\, groundwater depletion\, reduced ecological connectivity and so on. \nStop Rampal Eco-Disaster\, Save Bangladesh is an event to demand to stop this project. The event will provide information\, Q/A and how Bangladeshis as well as non-Bangladeshis can involved in stopping Rampal project.
