The event is presented by SANM TV. \n\n \n\nShafi Mondol – A Baul Singer from Bangladesh\n\nBaul singers are mystic minstrels from Bangladesh and West Bengal of India\,  purveyors of an ecstatic musical tradition of wandering saint/singers\, with roots in both Vaishnava Hinduism and Sufi Muslim poetry. Shafi Mondol is one of their leading practitioners\, performers\, and teachers. He received his training from Shadhon Mukherjee\, and he specializes in the music of Lalon Phakir\, a nineteenth century Bangla Sufi saint and song-maker. Mondol tours internationally\, and runs the Bhabnagor Shongeet Ashram (school)\, where many of his disciples are among the foremost singers of Bangladesh.
