Bangladeshi-American Rapper Event

Queens-based Bangladeshi-American rapper and hip-hop artist Anik Khan will be featured at an event organized by N(OCEANS). The event is to celebrate Asian/Pacific/American (APA) heritage month at the New York University.

Anik Khan uses his music to speak out for marginalized communities, most recently with his newly-released single, Columbus, which was written in response to Trump’s election and following Muslim ban. The event will create awareness and encourage dialogue amongst members of Bangladeshi as well as Asian community about the issues that face those around us on a a regular basis. The event wants to challenge attendees to look introspectively at the preconceived n(oceans) they hold about other ethnicities, religions and people but at the same time to acknowledge the beauty and suffering of immigrant families, of which many were forced to cross oceans to be in the USA.

Dinner will be provided!
