Bachao

Bachao is a Bangladeshi-American charitable organization in California. It was founded in Southern California as a not-for-profit organization in 2008 to perform various kinds of charitable work in Bangladesh with the help of Bangladeshi-American community in USA. The company is registered in the USA with IRS as 501 (c), tax exempt (Tax ID: 26-2732393) organization. The primary mission of Bachao is to promote basic education and health care of underprivileged children in Bangladesh so that they have an opportunity for a better life. Bachao believes that healthcare and education are the two most important factors to the growth of a child. The organization provides education and basic healthcare (including preventive immunization) to the underprivileged children, so that they will grow to become useful member of the society and attain economic independence. Funds are provided to directly to the projects undertaken by Bachao or given to partner organizations to carry out projects similar to and aligned with aims and objectives of Bachao. Partner organization receives fund based on their merit and only after they undergo a very thorough vetting process. Funding is available for organizations who have proven track record of charitable work.

By following secular, non-regional, non-political, transparent policy, Bachao tries to select and support projects in Bangladesh based on need and potential. It collects money, goods, and other kinds of donations from Bangladeshi community in USA. Interested individuals or organizations can submit grant proposal for new project or to extend an on-going project.

Bachao Ambassador Program

Stated from 2013, Bachao Ambassador Program is designed to encourage young second-generation Bangladeshi-Americans to become active members of the community while simultaneously gaining a better understanding of Bangladeshi heritage. Students from 10th to 12th grade are welcome to apply for the program. Ambassadors raise fund to support education of talented students in Bangladesh, conduct annual book drive, volunteer at food banks and soup kitchens, participate in family friendly community activities, help in annual dinner, raffle and silent auctions, etc. The missions of Bachao Ambassador Program are:
