Turning Point

Turning Point is a South Asian social service organization that primarily deals with domestic violence related issues in the Muslim community.

The organization has Bangladeshi workers and Bangla language assistance for Bangladeshi domestic violence victims. The organization also has resources to help Pakistani, Indian, Sri Lankan and other South Asian Muslim community. Turning Point was founded by Robina Niaz – a Pakistani American, who is also the Executive Director of the organization. Apart from domestic violence, the organization focuses on issues related to child safety, immigration, poverty, etc.

Turning Point offers the following free and confidential services in a culturally and religiously sensitive environment:

Turning Point strives to raise awareness within the Muslim community and educate community and religious leaders about the terrible impact of domestic violence on families, especially women and children. In partnership with public and private institutions, Turning Point also aims at mentoring a new generation of social workers trained to address the unique needs of the Muslim community.
