Bangladesh Cultural Society of Kitchener-Waterloo & Cambridge was founded in 2013 to celebrate Bangladeshi culture in the Tri-Cities (also known as Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo) in Southern Ontario, Canada. As a non-profit community group, Bangladesh Cultural Society of Kitchener-Waterloo aims to work as a pioneering group to practice and promote Bangladeshi culture with Canada’s other multi-ethnic communities. The society follows principles of secularism, nonpartisan-immunity to the political parties of a country and respectful peaceful co-existence with other communities.

About 400 families live in the area, many have children born in Canada. One of the principal aim of the society is to introduce Bangladesh’s history and culture to the new generation of Bangladeshi-Canadians. Bangladesh Cultural Society at Kitchener-Waterloo organizes Boishakhi, (Bangla New Year), Ekushy February (Mother Language Day), and other events with musical performances, film, poetry recitation, dance, children’s program etc.

Bangladesh Cultural Society of Kitchener-Waterloo also run a Bangla school for children. The school runs every Sunday.
