Autism Society Habilitation Association (ASHA) is now Autism Society Habilitation Organization Inc. (ASHO).

Founded in 2015, Autism Society Habilitation Association (ASHA) is a not-for-profit organization initiated by Bangladeshi community to provide a support platform for Bangladeshi parents who deals with autism related issues. ASHA is located in Jamaica, New York City. The principal aim is to educate Bangladeshis, as well as other communities about various spectrum of autism, increase awareness and how to approach it. Autism Society Habilitation Association (ASHA) works as an advocacy groups to present parent’s concerns and suggestions to school administrators and community leaders in New York City. ASHA organizes information sessions, support meetings, cultural events to achieve its goals. As a support group, the organization offers autism related information, resources available from individuals, private organizations and government to families affected by autism and general public.

Services provide by Autism Society Habilitation Association (ASHA):

Advocate at the local and/or state levels to implement changes in systems where improvement is needed so that all of those affected by autism may live a high quality of life.
Provide a sense of community, where you can find comfort and companionship.
Provide a supportive place where individuals on the spectrum, their families can find guidance.
Provide information and referrals services to the parents and caregivers.
Spread awareness through newsletters, speaker series, conferences with a very special focus on the immigrant community.

Objectives of Autism Society Habilitation Association (ASHA):

> Strengthening autism families by providing support in areas of greatest need, such as legal advice on guardianship, special needs trust, safety, aging out, residential options, day program options.
> Providing parents more access to the system through awareness, understanding for their children with autism.
> Providing our new immigrant community with the information of resources available.
> Providing our members and community with the latest information pertaining to research, education, legislation, safety, therapy and treatment trends
> Funding new research studies aimed at real progress for our children
> Raising awareness about the autism epidemic and the environmental components that have contributed to the rise in cases.
